Is NoSQL really necessary or do we just need a better SQL?

My  conclusion   Only  20%  of  the  ?me  a  database  spends  on  "Locking"  (the  “I”  in   ACID).  Determinism  will  not  help  at  all  to  speed  up  the  remaining   80%.  Even  if  one  ignores  the  bo6leneck  situa?on  imposed  by  the   scheduler,  it  is  s?ll  doubgul  that  more  determinism  leads  such  a   performance  boost,  that  NoSQL  become  obsolete.
